Setting up BCIT Email and Connecting to Exchange Online on Your Android Device
Although you can always access your BCIT email through a browser, including on mobile devices, you can also set up your BCIT email in the Android Outlook app and access and manage it that way.
Moving to Exchange Online
Starting in April 2022, BCIT has been moving BCIT employee email from our current Outlook/Exchange email system to Microsoft 365 Exchange Online. Users will be informed when their account has been migrated, and they will then need to update their mobile app account information, following the instructions below.
Using the Outlook app gives you access to additional functionality that isn’t available in other apps, including the ability to manage your shared mailboxes and calendars and to download attachments on calendar events.
Note: If you were previously using the Outlook Android app with different settings – such as prior to your BCIT email account being migrated to Exchange Online in 2022 or with a different BCIT email address due to a name change – you will need to remove your previous profile before you will be able to connect. If you encounter difficulties with removing your profile it may be simplest to delete the app and all of its data and start again.
There are many different Android operating systems so these instructions may look different depending on the device you are using.
If applicable, remove your existing BCIT mail profile from your device prior to enrolling your device.
On your Android device:
