Frequently Asked Questions about the Employee Dashboard in myBCIT

You can access the Employee Dashboard by logging into myBCIT using your current network username and password credentials, and clicking on the Employee Dashboard link under the Employee Self-Service heading.

• Profile and personal information
• View your team (for managers and above)
• Access to pay stubs
• View your earnings
• Summary of benefits + beneficiaries/dependents
• Tax forms and slips, where applicable
• Current and previous positions (active positions only displayed from January 2020)
• Display of current employee status

Some links have not been moved to the new Employee Dashboard, and will still be available under the Employee Self-Service heading. You will continue to access the following links through Employee Self-Service.

Based on permissions within Employee Self-Service, employees will continue to see other options as they do today.

Employee Self-Service is connected to various modules in Banner and other systems within BCIT that integrate our data. Our project teams are working to modernize our systems, which means using a phased approach to ensure our data remains accurate, secure, and aligns with our technology roadmap.

As we upgrade the Employee Self-Service platform, Profile information and HR documents will look different as you move around Employee Self-Service. All other information on your dashboard will have the previous look and feel. You will have access to the same content as you do today.

Yes. The Employee Dashboard will allow you to update your personal information. For more instructions on how to change your information, view the Knowledge Base article: Updating personal information in Employee Dashboard

Yes. All employees can access all current and past pay stubs and forms in the Employee Dashboard.

Personnel date is the date the change in your status occurred. The Effective Date will fall into the pay period the pay change took effect; this date is in alignment with our payroll calendar.

Example: On January 1, 2020 employee X went on a leave. This information was confirmed by the department and submitted to HR February 1, 2020. The next available payroll period open for inputs begins on February 3, 2020.

Personnel Date: January 1, 2020
Effective Date: February 3, 2020
