Updating Saved Logins in Browsers and Password Managers

Firefox’s built-in login and password management tool is sometimes labelled as “Lockwise” and sometimes just as “Passwords” depending on your browser version. To find and change your saved logins, in any Firefox window:

1. Click on the hamburger menu icon to open the Application menu, then click Passwords.
2. Type “bcit” into the search field at the top.
3. The list of logins is organized alphabetically by web address. Click on any specific login you wish to change.
4. Click the Edit link next to the web address.
   
5. Modify the Username or Password field as needed, then click the Save Changes button.
6. Repeat as needed for each saved BCIT login (there may be more than one).

Chrome saves your login information in the Autofill section of its settings. To update your logins in Chrome:

1. Click on the three vertical dots at the top right of your browser window to open the Chrome menu and click on Settings.
   
2. Click on Autofill in the menu on the left.
3. Click on Password Manager, which is likely to be the first item under the Autofill heading.
4. In the list of Saved Passwords, look for any items that contain bcit.ca as part of their URL. Click the three vertical dots on the right and click Edit Password in the menu that appears.
   
   • Note: Depending on your computer’s security settings, you may be asked to enter your Windows password at this point to confirm that you do want to allow Chrome to change the password. If this happens, enter your Windows password as requested and click OK.
5. Modify the Username or Password field as needed, then click the Save button.
6. Repeat as needed for each saved BCIT login (there may be more than one).

Edge saves your login information in a Passwords section in settings. To update your logins in Edge:

1. Click on the three horizontal dots at the top right of your browser window and click Settings in the menu.
   
2. Click Passwords on the Profile page (if Profiles is not selected when you first arrive in your settings, click on Profiles and then click on Passwords).
   
3. In the list of Saved passwords, look for any items that contain bcit.ca as part of their URL. Click the three horizontal dots on the right and click Edit in the menu that appears.
   
4. If a Windows Security pop-up appears, enter your Windows password to confirm that you want Edge to show passwords.
5. Modify the Username or Password field as needed, then click the Done button.
6. Repeat as needed for each saved BCIT login (there may be more than one).

On your mac, your passwords are stored in System Preferences > Passwords. Safari then accesses your login information from there when needed to assist you with logging in.

On your mac:

1. Go to the Apple Menu and choose System Preferences.
2. Click the Passwords icon.
3. Use the search field to search for saved passwords that include bcit.ca as part of their URL.
4. Click on the item to select it and then click the Edit button.
5. Modify the User Name or Password field as needed, then click the Save button.
6. Repeat as needed for each saved BCIT login (there may be more than one).
