Completing registration for a VMware subscription

Once your subscription has been approved and assigned by BCIT IT Services, you will receive an email from VMware to complete the registration process and activate your subscription.

1. Follow the link provided in the email.
2. Find the green box that says “Has your Academy Admin already registered you to a class on the D2L platform?”
3. Click on the [Register] button.

Once you have completed the registration details and set a password, your account registration will be complete.

1. Log in to the VMware Academic Program (VMAP) website at https://itacademy.brightspace.com/d2l/login
2. VMware products appear as a Course. You will need to click on [My Courses > View Courses] to access product keys.
   
3. Click on Get VMWare Software & Licenses to see the dropdown menu.
   
4. Click Request Software License Keys.
   
5. Click on a tile for the product you want. Make sure the version is the correct version > Request.
   • Note: You will get an email that your request has been submitted. The email says it may take up to 24 hours for a key to be emailed to you, but it usually takes less than 10 minutes.

The Product Keys will be emailed to you. Make sure you check your Junk/Spam folder, and/or allow this email address: info@itacademy.brightspace.com

1. Repeat Step 6, items 1-2.
2. Use the Direct Links for Software Download on the right side of the page.

Use the downloaded installers to install the product on your computer. Remember that installations are limited to one install; you can’t install this on multiple devices.

Launch your application. When it asks for a product key, use the key you obtained for your product in Step 6.

Keys are sent to your email inbox for the @bcit.ca(staff/faculty) or @my.bcit.ca (students) account you used to register with.
