Expiry, Access, and Migration Dates for Adobe Creative Cloud Subscriptions

Adobe Creative Cloud subscriptions include file storage in Adobe Cloud. This article describes the logic affecting date ranges for application access and for access to files stored in Adobe Cloud.

Full-time student subscriptions have a date range of Sept 1 – Aug 31, no matter when that student starts at BCIT. If a student’s studies overlap two Septembers, a student will be eligible to renew a subscription. No change.
Full-time students will now retain access to applications and access to stored content until Aug 31. This is a change in behavior.
This change standardizes expiry dates – no matter when your Full-time program started – and will allow BCIT to be more consistent with expiry messaging to students.

Flexible Learning students who purchased a $50 term-based subscription remain limited by more restrictive subscription ranges of Sept 1 – Dec 31/Jan 1 – Mar 31/Apr 1 – Aug 31.
This is not a change, but has not been very clearly communicated in the past.
Flexible Learning students will have access to applications and access to Adobe Cloud storage until the last day of their subscription (Dec 31, Mar 31, Aug 31). This provides significantly less time to migrate assets from Adobe Cloud due to the constraint of a shorter subscription date range.

Asset migration

These changes allow BCIT to be as consistent as possible in our communication about subscription expiry dates and the deadlines for moving assets out of Adobe Cloud. This should reduce the risks of students losing saved content due to any confusion in communication.

Full-time students all have one standard migration date, and flexible learning students must save their assets outside of Adobe Cloud by the end of the Flexible Learning Term as described above.
