Adobe Creative Cloud for Faculty and Staff

Licensing Information

BCIT’s updated agreement separates Adobe offerings into three licensed products:

  • Adobe Acrobat is site licensed (no cost) for Faculty and Staff.
  • Adobe Express is site licensed (no cost) for Faculty and Staff.
  • Adobe Creative Cloud licensing is now limited and will be regulated.
Note: Access to Creative Cloud subscriptions requires review and approval based on the use of the software at BCIT and will incur a cost to your department.

What is Adobe Creative Cloud?

Adobe Creative Cloud is a bundle of more than 20 software applications to enable creators to produce a wide array of creative content for images, web-content, sound, and video. An academic creative cloud subscription provides access to almost all of Adobe’s flagship products including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, and more.

Adobe Acrobat is now available as a separate product for BCIT – if you only require Adobe to read, modify, and manage PDFs you do not need a full Adobe Creative Cloud subscription. Learn how to get an Adobe Acrobat subscription.

Subscription renewal

Starting in 2023, one-year subscriptions will now expire on October 1 of each year. If your current applications are not allowing you to log in, your subscription has likely expired. BCIT is deliberately offsetting Adobe renewals to ensure a smooth September term start.

You do not need to uninstall and reinstall applications on your computer – you only need to update your licensing through the self-serve portal. All users are encouraged to renew ASAP on October 1 to allow time for provisioning without impacting classroom delivery.

New review and approval process for Creative Cloud subscriptions

The goal of the application process is to ensure that instructional staff teaching Adobe products continue to have access to this software. All employee Creative Cloud subscriptions require manager approval for funding/cross-charge.
