Adobe Acrobat for Faculty and Staff

All existing employee subscriptions have been extended until Sept 30. You do not need to renew any licensing. New employees without licensing can use the self-service portal to get licensing without delay.

BCIT has secured new licensing, and we must transition by Oct 1. To cut-over to the new licensing, IT Services will invalidate all licenses at midnight Sept 30 and provide new offerings in the self-service portal starting on Oct 1.

All employees (including those with new subscriptions issued in Sept 2023) will be required to claim an appropriate license on Oct 1. This timing ensures that Adobe license renewal will not have a significant impact on term-start activities.

There are new products, costs, and licensing outlined in the article below. Please review the article and make sure you select the appropriate product to renew.

The remainder of this article describes the changes that will be in effect on Oct 1, and is posted to assist with institute awareness of the upcoming change and to ease the license transition. If you have any questions, please email adobe@bcit.ca.

Adobe Acrobat is an application to view, create, manipulate, print and manage Portable Document Format (PDF) files. You need a BCIT-enabled account with an @bcit.ca email address.

BCIT provides staff with access to one-year subscriptions that run from October 1 to September 30 of each year. Subscriptions expire on October 1st and must be renewed by the individual users via BCIT’s self-service portal.

Visit BCIT’s self-service portal.
Sign in with your BCIT credentials, then click the [Start Shopping] button at the bottom of the screen.
Click on the [Adobe Acrobat Pro Subscription] tile.
Add the product to the cart and check out.
Wait 2-24 hours (there can be delays for provisioning at peak times, early September is a peak time)
Your account will be created. No notification or confirmation will be issued.

Check Control Panel > Programs and Features to check if Adobe Acrobat is already installed on your computer. If not:
• From on campus, select Windows Start Button > Software Center > Adobe Acrobat DC 2022 NUL. Click the tile, then click install.
• From off campus, visit the Adobe download site directly to install. Sign in to the site using your existing BCIT email and credentials. Find the Adobe tile and click install.
Once the installation is complete, launch Acrobat and sign in using your regular BCIT credentials to use the software.
