Installing BCIT software on BCIT computers

Company Portal is pre-installed in all BCIT-issued computers.

1. In the “Search” field on the bottom of your screen, type “Company Portal” and hit Enter.
   
2. Company Portal will open displaying the home page.
   

1. In Company Portal, navigate to the Apps page via the left side menu.
   Please note that some applications require VPN to function properly
   
2. Select the application that you would like to install.
3. Click the Install button. The application will begin downloading and installing.
4. As the app installs, take a moment to review the details for any specific app and check for additional required steps.
   

1. Make sure you have a working internet connection.
2. In the “Search” field on the bottom of your screen, type “Windows Updates” and hit Enter.
   
3. Hit the Check for updates button to initiate a check.
   
4. Your device will automatically initiate the process of checking for and installing the required updates. You may receive a prompt to reboot once the updates are installed.

The BCIT Self Service app can be found in the Applications folder on your Mac.

You can open it in several ways:

1. Through Finder:
   1. Open Finder and select Applications from the left sidebar.
   2. Browse or use the search bar to locate BCIT Self Service.
2. Via Spotlight:
   1. Press Cmd + Space to bring up Spotlight.
   2. Type BCIT Self Service and press Enter when it appears in the results.
3. Using Launchpad:
   1. Click the Launchpad icon in the Dock (or use a pinch gesture on the trackpad).
   2. Search for BCIT Self Service and click on the app to open it.

In BCIT Self Service, you can browse through the catalogue or search for a specific application or printer.

Please note that all approved software is available; however, some may require additional licensing. Before installing any additional software, please consult with your department.
