Mapping a Drive Letter to a Network Folder

All folders can be accessed through the S: drive.

Mapping a drive in Windows 10

  1. Select the Start Menu, and search for ‘This PC’.screen shots on mapping a drive letter to a folder
  2. Right-click This PC and select Map network drive.screen shots on mapping a drive letter to a folder
  3. For each of the required mappings, enter the appropriate information in the window as follows:
    • For the Share In (I: drive) enter
      \\home.fs.bcit.ca\shareinout\in
    • For the Share Out (J: drive) enter
      \\home.fs.bcit.ca\shareinout\out
    • For Departmental shares (S: drive) enter
      \\files.ad.bcit.ca\shared

  4. Once you have finished entering your required drive mappings, click Finish and your drive(s) should appear in File Explorer after a short time. If prompted for ID and password, enter your usual BCIT login credentials.
