About changes to @my.bcit.ca email for BCIT Employees

Note

This article is intended to share that a change is coming for all Faculty & Staff at BCIT. Some details are still being finalized, and this article will be updated as additional information becomes available as the myBCIT Email Migration initiative progresses.

myBCIT Email Migration is an initiative to move Student Email (@my.bcit.ca) from a locally hosted system to Microsoft 365. This change modernizes how student email is delivered by moving it to a secure, cloud‑based Microsoft 365 platform. Employee Email (@bcit.ca) is already hosted on Microsoft 365.

Currently, employees receive both an @bcit.ca and an @my.bcit.ca email account when they are hired. This will no longer be the case. To maintain a clear separation between student and employee email services and support continued access to current and future productivity tools, employees will use @bcit.ca exclusively for work-related communications.

On November 15, 2026, employee @my.bcit.ca email addresses will be moved to read-only mode. You will no longer be able to send or receive emails from these accounts.
