Scanning to e-mail using a Canon Multi Function Device

The new Canon Multi Function Devices, or MFDs (Canon Image Runner models 2270, 3570, 4555, 5570 and 8070) have the capability of scanning documents to email. This feature allows you to scan a document (as in copying) and send it via e-mail.

The document will arrive in the recipients inbox as a Adobe Acrobat document (.pdf). The sender (i.e. the from field) is the department owning the MFD. The subject of the message is “Attached file”.

Use this feature to send a scanned document to yourself via e-mail. You can then forward it to others if required. Or e-mail the scanned document directly to another. As a courtesy to the recipient, please notify them that you sent the file.

  4. Place the document (face up) in the feeder
